How FamilyCues SMS Opt-In Works
FamilyCues turns approved school emails into text reminders. Text messages are sent only to a mobile number whose own owner has checked the optional SMS-consent box and whose number has completed verification. Being added to a household is never enough on its own. This page documents that process.
Where opt-in happens
Consent is collected inside the signed-in FamilyCues dashboard, not on this page and not on any public form:
- Sign in to FamilyCues at familycues.com (the same site also answers at bellcuekids.com).
- Open Family, then Reminder recipients.
- Find “Your text messages” — your own name, and the mobile number you want reminders sent to.
- Manually check the optional SMS-consent checkbox beside the disclosure. It is never pre-checked, and it is separate from accepting FamilyCues' Terms of Service.
- Verify the mobile number. No reminders are sent until verification is complete.
How anyone else in the household opts in
Nobody can consent on another person's behalf. A household member can add a second caregiver and their mobile number, but that alone never enrolls them:
- A household member adds the other caregiver's name and mobile number. No consent checkbox is offered to them, and none is recorded.
- FamilyCues produces a private consent link for that caregiver, which the household member sends to them.
- The caregiver opens the link, sees their own name and number and the complete disclosure below, and checks the box themselves.
- Only then is consent recorded, and the number still has to be verified before FamilyCues sends anything.
The opt-in as it appears in FamilyCues
What the disclosure covers

- Deadlines, schedule changes, events, and required actions
- Account notices
- Verification messages
- Message frequency varies
- Message and data rates may apply
- Reply STOP to opt out
- Reply HELP for help
- SMS consent is optional
- Consent is not required to purchase or use the web dashboard
Opting out
Reply STOP to any FamilyCues text to stop all FamilyCues messages to that number. FamilyCues sends one final confirmation and then stops. Reply HELP for help. Consent can also be withdrawn at any time in the dashboard under Family → Reminder recipients, and a global STOP always overrides every other household, category or topic setting. FamilyCues never sends promotional or marketing text messages through this program.
